06/12/11 – All cash donations that are in-hand by Monday, June 20 will be divided equally among claimants to-date. As of this date, WHCA have not received one (1) promised donation of $1,000. If we do not receive a check for that donation by 06/20/11, the distribution will proceed with what we currently have in the special fund. To date, there are 51 claimants for the Windermere funds raised by WHCA. Each of the 51 claimants will be contacted in the week of 06/13/11 to advise them of the planned distribution of remaining donations by check. WHCA will hold a distribution meeting on Saturday, June 25 starting at 9 am at The Enterprise Center, CDC, 4548 Market Street. Please note that the distribution meeting will end at 10 am. Claimants who are unable to make that meeting are asked to contact WHCA to verify their mailing addresses so that we may mail the checks directly to them.
On March 11, the fundraising committee has developed the following plan:
All donated cash that is in-hand by Monday, March 21 will be divided equally into 89 shares as there were 89 occupied apartments. Each occupied apartment regardless of number of residents, will receive a share and each apartment with more than 1 resident, will have its share divided up equally amongst its residents.
Both monetary and non-monetary donations will be distributed on Saturday, March 26. All known Windermere residents will be contacted (either by email or phone) on Sunday, March 13 to inform them of the distribution date/time/location. WHCA is using the list of contacts maintained by Lara Figueroa as our list of known residents. Residents will be asked to bring a form of id to the meeting to verify who they are. Residents who are not able to attend the March 26 meeting are asked to respond to WHCA’s email/phone notification to arrange for mailing of donations. WHCA will bear the cost of money order fees and postage as all donations will go directly to Windermere residents.
Windermere residents attending March 26 meeting will have an opportunity to take what they need from the clothing and personal effects donations. All donated items left at the end of the meeting will be donated to the 2nd Mile Center, a local church-run used items store.
Of the list that is maintained by Lara Figueroa, there are several apartments that are missing resident information. WHCA will hold the funds for those apartments for 90 days following the notification date (i.e. up till 6/19/2011). Through our website and communications with known residents from Figueroa’s list, WHCA will ask residents to come forward to identify themselves as residents of those apartments missing tenant information. Leaders from the Windermere resident group have been asked to verify individuals coming forward. After 90 days, any unclaimed shares and any additional cash donations will be divided up equally amongst known claimants and distributed no later than 6/25.
