Comprehensive Neighborhood Plan

The Walnut Hill Community Association will collaborate with The Enterprise Center Community Development Corporation (CDC) to develop a comprehensive strategic plan for the Walnut Hill boundary area: 45th to 52nd Streets from Market to Spruce Streets. The objective of the planning process is to leverage the organizational infrastructure and professional expertise of The Enterprise Center Community Development Corporation (CDC) to plan, survey, evaluate, and compile information, data, and statistics regarding the history, existing conditions, and future aspirations of the Walnut Hill residential, business, and institutional communities.

The immediate anticipated impact of the planning process is to develop a comprehensive strategic planning document that outlines and identifies Walnut Hill community and development priorities. This information will then be utilized to pursue public and private funding to implement the recommendations of the plan. The ultimate anticipated impact includes increased stakeholders communication and interaction, improved community socio-economic conditions, improved housing maintenance and repair, improved residential and storefront facades, reduction in blight, reduction in crime, and improved job opportunities for Walnut Hill residents.

We are targeting August 2007 to complete the plan. Progress reports and planning updates will be presented at each monthly general membership meeting.
