Strategic Partners

	The Enterprise Center CDC
	University City District University City District (UCD) - continue to build upon the current partnership with UCD in order to promote its mission of maintaining a clean and safe urban environment. Organize neighborhood residents to participate in UCD clean-up days, during which UCD provides work gloves and trash bags and picks up rubbish collected by residents.
	Partnership CDC
	UC Green University City Green - leverage UC Green's administrative, technical and educational capacities in order to improve the landscape of Walnut Hill. Coordinate planting and greening efforts, and recruit/instruct resident volunteers that will maintain the yards, parks and open spaces.
	ECA Energy Coordinating Agency - partner with ECA to provide energy-efficiency assessments to selected homes on the demonstration blocks and work with homeowners to identify funding for cost-effective solutions as necessary; provide weatherization seminars to all residents of Walnut Hill.
	PHS Pennsylvania Horticultural Society - improve Walnut Hill's landscaping through the Horticultural Society's Philadelphia Green program, which organizes residents and local groups to plant and maintain tree-lined streets and provides horticultural education, landscape architecture services and ongoing technical support.

Additional Partners

Philadelphia More Beautiful Committee (PMBC) - partner with PMBC in order to strengthen the current block captain system in Walnut Hill, initiate the PMBC Junior Block Captain program, combat the litter that currently detracts from the attractive and unique housing stock, and organize block cleanings and beautification efforts.

University City Lighting Consortium - collaborate with the Consortium during the second phase of its multi-year lighting improvement initiative to ensure that additional pedestrian lighting is installed in Walnut Hill.

Department of Parks and Recreation - work with the Department of Parks and Recreation to improve landscape for public areas in Walnut Hill and work with funding partners to identify new play equipment for park at 47th and Sansom Streets.

Streets Department - work with the Streets Department to install additional street lighting along sidewalks and in public areas.

About The Walnut Hill Community Association
The Walnut Hill Community Association (WHCA) is a strong and expanding neighborhood group run by residents that have demonstrated their dedication to community revitalization. The Executive Committee of WHCA is active and effective in organizing community events and determining improvement priorities. We welcome your input, energy and participation.
